The period after the 13th century, a new wave of the Bhakti movement in North India. This was an age when Islam, Sufism, and Hinduism gave various strands of Bhakti. Ordinary strata of the society, such as traders, craftspersons, or peasants, were interested in listening to the ideas of the saints. For example- saints like Kabir and Baba Nanak rejected all orthodox rituals. Tulsidas and Surdas were looked upon as God in the form of Rama. Mirabai devoted her life to Krishna. All these saints had helped the Bhakti movement to flourish.
