Detailed Solution

Concept-The logarithmic function of an aqueous solution's H+ ion concentration is expressed by pH. It establishes whether a solution is acidic or basic. 7 is a neutral ph.
A pH value of seven or above denotes basicity, while one of seven or less denotes acidity. The big intestine is better suited for the digestion process than the small intestine since it is significantly more acidic than the latter.
The pH scale is not linear .Two adjacent values on a linear scale differ by the same amount. A logarithmic scale, though, makes a difference. In a logarithmic scale, the difference between two adjacent numbers might change by a factor of 10.
We may deduce from the question that the pH of the small intestine is 7.5 and that of the big intestine is 5.5. However, the H+ ion concentration differential between them is actually 100 times greater. The concentration of H+ ions increases 100 times when substances move from the small to the large intestine.
Hence, option 4 is the correct answer.
