The M Phase represents the phase when the actual cell division or mitosis occurs. The M phase is further divided into karyokinesis and cytokinesis. Karyokinesis includes prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. Cytokinesis includes division of cytoplasm and forming two daughter cells. ${\mathrm{G}}_1$, S and ${\mathrm{G}}_2$phase are a part of the interphase and it is not accompanied by cell division.
