Detailed Solution

Concept- Rhizobium is a particular kind of bacterium that lives on the roots of plants. These are exclusively present in plants that are naturally leguminous. These plants contain bulge-like nodules in their roots, which are described as structures. In the nodules of these plants, the rhizobium fixes the nitrogen from the atmosphere. Ammonia is created from this nitrogen and used by plants for their growth and development.
The 'Nif' gene in their nucleic acid gives them the ability to fix nitrogen. The plant in turn offers the rhizobium bacteria a place to flourish. As a result, there is a symbiotic relationship between these two creatures. Consequently, the 'Nif' gene is present in the rhizobium's plasmid.
Hence, the correct answer is option 1.
