The plastics, if they are hard, become soft and readily workable by addition of certain compounds called Plasticiser.
A catalyst is an ingredient that can be added to a reaction to speed up the process without being consumed. At the end of each chromosome, there is an area known as a telomere. PVC, a stiff plastic, is transformed into a supple, elastic material using plasticizers. The process of vulcanizing rubber increases its tensile strength. So, if the plastics are hard, add certain substances known as plasticizers to make them soft and easy to work.
