Let $Q (x, y)$ be the reflection of $P(4, 1)$ about 
the line $y = x$, then mid-point of PQ lies on this line and is perpendicular to it. So we have $\frac{y+1}{2}=\frac{x+4}{2}$ and $\frac{y-1}{x-4}=-1$

$\Rightarrow x-y=-3$ and $x+y=5$
