Detailed Solution

The institutionalised system of racial segregation in South Africa was called apartheid by the white nationalist party in 1948. Although racial segregation also existed in the 20th century, the National Party of South Africa, which was composed largely of colonialists, established an official policy of racial segregation in 1948.
Racial segregation was permitted by law in territorial, official, industrial, and residential settings.
Black people were only allowed to live in white communities if they were given permission to do so. Public restrooms, taxis, and beaches were all segregated for blacks and whites.
During this time, Black continued to lose prior advantages and made little progress.
