The political party that wants to be recognized must meet a few requirements. Them being: It should have won 4 seats in the most recent Lok Sabha elections and 6% of the vote in any four recent state assembly elections. In the most recent election, it needed to win 2% of all Lok Sabha seats, which had to come from at least four states. The National Party is a recognized political party by the Election Commission that receives at least 6% of the total votes cast in four or more States for the Lok Sabha election. And win at least four states' worth of seats, or 2% of the total number of Lok Sabha seats, in the Lok Sabha General Election.
