Detailed Solution

The Poona Pact was an agreement between M.K. Gandhi and B.R.Ambedkar signed in the Yerwada Central jail in 1932. B.R. Ambedkar settled the representation of Dalits in the legislative assembly with Gandhiji with a pact called the Poona pact. The agreement was to provide reservations to the depressed classes. Dr Ambedkar was in favour of separate electorates for the depressed classes. Still, Gandhiji was against this idea because he thought that the depressed class people would get more alienated from society because of this.
