Present population = 60000.
Increment per year = 10%.
Population after 1st year = 60000 + 10% of 60000.
We know that a% of b = a100×b where a and b are real numbers.
⇒ Population after 1st year = 60000+10100×60000
⇒ Population after 1st year = 60000+6000
⇒ Population after 1st year = 66000
Population after 2nd year = 66000 + 10% of 66000.
⇒ Population after 2nd year = 66000+10100×66000
⇒ Population after 2nd year = 66000+6600
⇒ Population after 2nd year = 72600
The population of the town after 2 years will be 72600.
