Detailed Solution

The practice of Slavery was finally abolished in the French colonies in 1848. Enslaved people were exploited by their masters, and they had to face serious discriminatory policies at the hands of their rulers. It was most commonly practised in the plantation areas of African and Caribbean colonies. The Convention of 1794 passed a law to free all enslaved people from this indiscriminate practice under the Jacobin regime. Slavery, as it had always been practised on the European, American, and African continents was reintroduced during Napoleon's reign but was eventually abolished in 1848. This convention made all enslaved people free.
