The practice of Slavery was finally abolished in the French colonies in 1848. Slavery was an inhumane practice that was practised in most of the old societies. Masters exploited enslaved people. They had to face serious discriminatory policies at the hands of their rulers. So it was the practice in the plantation areas of African and Caribbean colonies. Finally, at the Convention of 1794, a law was passed to free all enslaved people from this indiscriminate practice. This convention made all enslaved people free.
