Detailed Solution

The practice of Shifting Cultivation was majorly impacted by European Colonialism.
European colonisation significantly impacted shifting cultivation, often known as swidden agriculture. This is a traditional agricultural method in many regions of Asia, Africa, and South America. This approach was deemed damaging to the woodlands by European foresters. They believed that land that was only utilised for farming sometimes could not support the growth of trees for railroad timber. There was also the risk of the flames spreading and destroying priceless wood when a forest was burned.
Additionally, shifting cultivation made it more challenging for the government to compute taxes. Therefore, shifting cultivation was outlawed by the government. Many communities' dwellings in the woodlands had to be forcibly removed as a result.
