Detailed Solution

The President of India is elected by an indirect election by the electoral college.
A single-transferable voting system is used to indirectly elect the President of the country. An electoral college is made up of elected officials from the state assemblies, and Parliament elects the President. Members of the Houses and state legislatures who have been nominated are not eligible to vote in the presidential election. Thus, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, state legislative assemblies, as well as the legislative assemblies of Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and Puducherry, constitute the electoral college for the presidential election.
