For an event A the probability of an event P(A)  is represented as, P(A)=  Number of favourable outcomes   Total number of outcomes    According to question probability =0.035  
So, P(A)=0.035   .
 And total eggs in a lot are 400
So, n(S)=400   .
 Let n(A)    be the number of bad eggs in a lot,
As,
P(A)= n(A) n(S) ,  
 So, the number of bad eggs is,
n(A)=n(S)×P(A)   .
we get  n A =0.035×400 n A =14  
Therefore, number of bad eggs is 14
Hence the correct option is 4.
