Detailed Solution

The procedure through which judges of the supreme court or high court are removed is called impeachment.
A judge of the Supreme Court or high court may only be removed from office by order of the President issued after an address in each House of Parliament supported by a majority of the members of that House, and the majority must not be less than two-thirds of members voting, and then must be presented to the President in the same Session for such removal on the grounds of proved misbehaviour or incapacity. This process is referred to as Impeachment. Anyone who has served as a Supreme Court judge is prohibited from practising law in India before any court or other authority.
