Detailed Solution

The process in which a liquid changes into vapour even below its boiling point is known as evaporation.
Evaporation is the process by which water changes from liquid to a gaseous/vapour state on heating but the phase starts changing even below the boiling point of water. When we keep any pot filled with water in the open air slowly its volume gets reduced and finally, after some time it gets finished, this is an example of evaporation. It can happen at any temperature. Factors that affect the rate of evaporation are temperature, the surface area of liquid, wind speed, humidity in the environment and type of liquid.
