$\mathrm{x}={\left(1\right)}^{1/\mathrm{n}}={(\mathrm{cis} 0)}^{1/\mathrm{n}}=\mathrm{cis}\frac{2\mathrm{k\pi }}{\mathrm{n}}=\mathrm{k}=0, 1, 2...\mathrm{n}-1$

$\mathrm{\alpha }=\mathrm{cis}\frac{2\mathrm{\pi }}{\mathrm{n}}$ then the ${\mathrm{n}}^{\mathrm{th}}$ roots of units are $1, \mathrm{\alpha }, {\mathrm{\alpha }}^2,....{\mathrm{\alpha }}^{\mathrm{n}-1}$
