(i) The substance he must add to acetic acid is sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3) to produce carbon dioxide.
(ii) The chemical reaction is as follows:

2CH3COOH+Na2CO32CH3COONa+H2O+CO2

CH3COOH+NaHCO3CH3COONa+H2O+CO2

(iii) The test to identify carbon dioxide gas is a lime water test. Liberated CO2 passes through lime water which turns it milky.
