Detailed Solution

Concept- The property by virtue of which metals can be beaten into thin sheets is called malleability.
A metal's malleability determines its capacity to be hammered into thin sheets.
When a metal is rolled or hammered, at the molecular level the atoms of the metal are flexible enough and slide over each other to take the new shape they are given. Here it is important that the bonds between the metals do not break during hammering. This is called malleability.
Examples of metals that are highly malleable are iron, gold, silver, lead, aluminium, copper and many other metals. Therefore, we can see that thin foils of gold, silver and aluminium are commercially available.
Hence, the answer is malleability.
