The proportion of land cultivated by small and marginal farmers is 55.4%. 85% of the total farmers are large and medium farmers, whereas 15 % of the total farmers are small and marginal farmers. In comparison, that of medium and large farmers is 44.6%. On the other hand, the number of large and medium farmers is more than that of small and marginal farmers. It shows that even though the proportion of small and marginal farmers is less, the area cultivated by them is still more. It is so because rich and middle-class people have better education and are highly qualified.
