Detailed Solution

The Proto-industrial system was a part of a network of commercial exchanges which was controlled by merchants. The stage of industrialization known as proto-industrialization was present before factories were built in England and other parts of Europe. There was massive, extensive industrial production for a global market, but it was entirely handmade and not based on factories. The European merchants who had migrated to the countryside in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries were asked to make goods for a global market while also giving money to local artisans and peasants. Because of this, merchants were constrained and instructed not to increase their production within towns. Poor peasants and artisans eagerly and happily consented to the countryside so that they might stay there and carry on farming in their little plots.
