Asaf Jah founded the province of Hyderabad.
The Mughal Emperor Farrukhsiyar's court included Asaf Jah, who established the region of Hyderabad. He was a prominent member of the court. He was given the governorship of Awadh, and the Deccan was added to his duties. Asaf Jah was given control over both politics and finances. He took advantage of the turbulence in the Deccan and the conflicts between the aristocracy to seize power. He subsequently officially took over as the province's ruler. Moreover, he brought officials and soldiers from north India. He turned his faithful workers into mansabdars. He rarely sought advice from Delhi and worked on his own. The Mughal Emperor was accustomed to approving his own choices.
