Let equation x26x+a=0 have roots α and β

Also, let equation x2cx+6=0 have roots α and γ

Given βγ=43 αβαγ=43 a6=43 a=8

First equation is x26x+8=0

 (x2)(x4)=0 x=2,4

If β=4, then γ=3β4=3

If β=2, then γ=3β4=32, which is not an integer.

Now, x23x4=0

 (x4)(x+1)=0 x=1,4

Clearly, one root is less than 2 and other is more than2
