Detailed Solution

 Henry's law states that PCO2 = KHx.

Here, x is the amount of carbon dioxide per mole of the carbon dioxide and water mixture.

2.5 atm = 2.5 x1.01325 x105 Pa = 2.533125 x105 Pa

moles of CO2/(moles of CO2 + moles of H2O)~ moles of CO2/moles of H2

as mole of CO2 are insignificant in contrast to the amount of moles of water
500 ml of water equals 500 g of water, which equals 500/18, or 27.78 moles of water.
Therefore, moles of CO2 = 0.042 moles

moles of CO2/27.78 = 0.00152.
Therefore, 0.042 * 44 = 1.848 g of CO2 are present in 500 ml of soda water.

Hence option(B)- 1.86 is correct.
