Magnetic force: When a current-carrying wire is put in a magnetic field, the magnetic field exerts a force on the wire. The magnetic force is the name given to this force. The force exerted on a current-carrying wire is given by:

Where I denotes current in the wire, l denotes wire length, and B denotes a magnetic field or magnetic flux density.

The force on the current-carrying wire is the product of the length vector and the magnetic field vector, also known as magnetic flux density (B).
