The Raikas are found in Rajasthan.
The Raikas resided in Rajasthan's deserts. They Found it difficult to cultivate their land tracts since the rainfall in Rajasthan was scarce and unpredictable. Every year their crops varied. There was no way to grow a crop across such a large area. As a result, the Raikas merged farming and pastoralism. The Raikas of Banner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner lived in their home villages during the monsoons because the grass was plentiful. The Raikas searched for new pasture and water in October, when these grazing areas were dry and drained, and returned during the next rainy season.
