Detailed Solution

Given
Income Ratio two persons
=9:7
=9k1:7k1
Here,
 k1= constant of proportionality
Now, ratio of expenditure
=4 :3
=4k2:3k2
We know, saving is the difference of income and expenditure. Both saves Rs 2000 per month. Thus, for person 1,
2000=9k1-4k2
For person 2
2000=7k1-3k2
Suppose
9k1-4k2=2000.....(1)
7k1-3k2=2000......(2)
Subtract equation number (2) from equation(1), we get,
2k1-k2=02k1=k2
Put the value of k2in (1), we get
9k1-4(2k1)=20009k1-8k1=2000k1=2000
So, person 1 income is,
 9k1
=9×2000
=Rs 18,000
Person 2 income is,
 7k1
=7×2000
=Rs14,000
Hence, option 1 is correct.
