Detailed Solution

Given 2 squares in which one is having its diagonal double that of the other.
Length of the diagonal of the square = 2 ×side  .
Assume diagonal 1 as Question Image, diagonal 2 as d 2  .
According to the question,
d 2 =2  d 1   Area of a square = d 2 2  .
Where d is the diagonal of square.
Now, the ratio is,
Area of square 2: Area of square 1
d 2 2 2 : d 1 2 2   d 2 2 : d 1 2   2 d 1 2 : d 1 2   4:1   Thus, the required ratio is 4: 1.
Hence, option 4 is correct.
