The ratio of the distances travelled by bus travelling 160 km in 4 hours and a train travelling 320km in 5 hours at uniform speeds in one hour is 5:8.
We are given that bus travels 160 km in 4 hours and train travels 320 km in 5 hours.
So, the distance travelled by bus in 1 hour is 160 4 =40km   and by train is 320 5 =64km  .
According to the statement,
40km 64km = 5×8 8×8  
40km 64km = 5 8  
Hence, the correct answer is 5:8.
