Detailed Solution

concept - The reaction in which reactants releases energy to form products are exothermic reactions. Energy shifts take place with every chemical reaction. These energy shifts can be seen in some reactions as an increase or decrease in the system's overall energy. This can be observed as a shift in temperature in some reactions.
We maa y see this transformation in other reactions when they begin to emit light or when they only function when light is shone on them. We now need to comprehend two key ideas, namely exothermic and endothermic reactions. Because energy was released throughout the reaction, an exothermic reaction is one in which the energy of the products is lower than the energy of the reactants.
In contrast, more energy must be absorbed to break the bonds in the reactants than is released when new bonds are generated in the products. This implies that energy from the environment must be absorbed as part of the total response. An endothermic reaction is the name for this kind of process.
As a result, we are aware that an exothermic reaction is one in which energy is evolved.
Hence, the answer is an exothermic reaction.
