The reaction of aqueous KMnO₄ with H₂O₂ in acidic medium is
$3{\mathrm{H}}_2{\mathrm{SO}}_4+2{\mathrm{KMnO}}_4+5{\mathrm{H}}_2{\mathrm{O}}_2\to 5{\mathrm{O}}_2+2{\mathrm{MnSO}}_4+8{\mathrm{H}}_2\mathrm{O}+{\mathrm{K}}_2{\mathrm{SO}}_4$
In the above reaction, KMnO₄ oxidizes H₂O₂ to O₂ and itself. [MnO₄ ⁻]gets reduced to Mn²⁺ ion as MnSO₄.
Hence, aqueous solution of KMnO₄ with H₂O₂ yields Mn²⁺ and O₂ in acidic conditions.
