The reaction of isobutylene with 60% $H_{2}S{O}_4$  at 70ºC gives

It is a polymerization reaction. The chain termination occurs after only one isobutylene molecule has been added. This is due to the high concentration of water, the intermediate carbonium ion loses a proton to water before it can react with other alkene molecules.
