Detailed Solution

The reason for the launch of the Civil Disobedience Movement was The consequences of the Great Economic Depression, The arrival of the Simon Commission and the Offer of dominion status by Lord Irwin. The Civil Disobedience movement was started because the Great Economic Depression caused enormous losses to different sections of society. The exports declined, and the agricultural prices fell. And people wanted to start a movement that would ease their lives. Similarly, in December 1929, Jawaharlal Nehru declared the ultimate aim of Puran Swaraj. All these situations made an occasion suitable for the launch of a mass movement. So, Gandhiji decided to start the Civil Disobedience Movement after the expiry of a request to the ruler.
