The reason of defeat of Siraj ud daula was Mir Jafar.
When the battle of Plassey was to be fought then, Mir Jafar was the commander of Nawab Siraj ud daula. Mir Jafar was not taken part directly in the battle of Plassey. Mir Jafar pretended to Siraj that he was going to fight in Siraj's army because Mir Jafar was the chief commander of Siraj's army, and Siraj trusted him. Robert Clive was dealing with Mir Jafar that if Jafar gave him all the information about Siraj's army, then Clive promised Jafar that he would make Jafar the next Nawab of Bengal. Therefore Mir Jafar cheated Siraj ud daula at the battle of Plassey.
