Detailed Solution

The red-glazed pottery known as Arretine Ware was found in Arikamedu. Arikamedu was a coastal town where ships unloaded cargo from far-off regions between 2200 and 1900 years ago. An enormous brick building that might have been a storehouse was discovered there. Amphorae, tall double-handled jars used to store liquids like wine or oil, and stamped red-glazed pottery known as Arretine Ware, named after an Italian city, were among the other artefacts discovered in Arikamedu. Wet clay was pressed into a stamped mould to create this pottery. Roman lamps, glassware, and gems have also been discovered at the location.
