The general form of quadratic equation is ax2 + bx + c = 0
When the discriminant of the equation is greater than zero, then quadratic equation has 2 real roots
Discriminant = b2 – 4ac
= (3)2 – 4 × 2 × 2
= 9 – 16
= –7
The discriminant is negative.
