The Rowlatt Act came into effect on 21st March 1919.
The Rowlatt act was named after Sir Sydney Rowlatt because it was Sir Sydney Rowlett who brought this act to India. This act was implemented on 21st march 1999. The act permits the arrest of anyone presumed of terrorism in British India without trial for two years. The Rowlatt Act was enacted with the purpose of the British officers to bloom their grip on the ordinary people of India. Rowlatt Act was enacted by the British to inordinately provide additional powers to the Police and reduce the simple rights of Indian Citizens.
