The Rowlatt Satyagraha was started by Gandhiji against the Rowlatt act. The Rowlatt Act of 1919 was repressive. It granted the government the power to repress political activities and detention for two years without trial. The whole country opposed Rowlatt Act. So Gandhiji launched a Rowlatt Satyagraha that was non-violent and civil disobedience against this Act. Rowlatt Satyagraha was scheduled for April 6, 1919. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre was a repressive act by the British during the Satyagraha against the Rowlatt act. Satyagraha was widespread and seeded a sense of collectivism among the people.
