Through a quasi-judicial process known as impeachment, Parliament is the sole body that has the authority to remove the President of India for "violation of the constitution."
Either house of parliament has the authority to file the impeachment allegations. The accusations must be signed by one-fourth of the members of the house that framed them, and the president is given two weeks' notice. The President has the right to appear at any such investigation when an impeachment resolution has been passed by a majority of 2/3rds of the total members of that house. Thereafter, it is sent to a different house for investigation of the fabricated charges. If the allegations were upheld by the other house as well and the impeachment resolution was approved by a two-thirds majority of all members, the president would be removed from office immediately.
