However, the Russian Revolution of 1905 altered the country's future. Doctors, attorneys, and others requested a constituent assembly as well. Due to this, the Tsar agreed to create the Duma, an elected consultative parliament for Russia. But the Tzar was in charge of the Duma, and he dismissed the first Duma after it had been functional only for 75 days.
