Detailed Solution

The Ryotwari System was a revenue collection system introduced by Captain Alexander Read and Thomas Munro in 1820. The Ryotwari system was Madras Presidency's standard tax collection system. The Ryotwari system was one of the three central tax collection systems in British India. The idea was that government authorities would collect land tax from each peasant directly.
