Detailed Solution

The Sachar Committee Report also debunked other prevalent myths about Muslims.
The Sachar Committee was formed in 2005 by the government of India. Headed by Justice Sachar, the committee had to look into various socio-economic indicators for the Muslim community and suggest changes while also analysing the reasons for their backwardness. The committee reported that on several indicators, the situation of the community is as bad as the Dalits in India. The community was found lagging behind all the other socio-religious groups on the parameters of education, health etc. The committee suggested that economic and social factors collaborated to increase the marginalisation of the community.
