In Gujarat's Narmada District, the Sardar Sarovar Dam is a concrete gravity dam constructed on the Narmada River close to Kevadiya. Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan are the four Indian states that will have access to the project's water and energy. On April 5, 1961, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, our previous prime minister, laid the cornerstone for the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The building work was finished on September 17, 2017, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after it had been under construction since April of that year. The building of the Sardar Sarovar dam across the Narmada River was financed by the World Bank. In terms of size, the Sardar Sarovar Dam is the second-largest concrete dam in the world.
