Detailed Solution

The SC and ST Act 1989 distinguishes several levels of crimes. The SC and ST Act 1989, also called The Prevention of Atrocities Act 1989, was made to determine several levels of crime done to the SC and ST people. Many activities mentioned in the act are considered a crime in the eyes of the law and are punishable offences. For example, forcing any member of the SC/ST caste to eat or drink any offensive or unhygienic substance, forcefully deprivation of a person’s right over their land or water, or making an SC/ST person leave their house, strongly prohibiting these people from coming to temples and worshipping, purposely deprive a person of SC/ST of getting access to clean drinking water, clean food and surroundings.
