The scope of rights has expanded a lot over the years. Our Constitution and law protects even more liberties than are guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. This has widened the range of protections available. This can sometimes result in a citizen's legal rights being expanded. Judgments were occasionally made by the courts that broadened the range of protections available. The right to freedom of the press, the right to information, and the right to education are among the Fundamental Rights that have been curtailed.
