Detailed Solution

‘The search for truth was the meaning of Satyagraha. It was a noble and non-violent method for mass agitation, demonstrations, or protests against any oppressive administrative system or ruler. This method was first used in South Africa by Mahatma Gandhi when he first faced discrimination in that country because of his skin colour and his heritage. Then, as Mahatma Gandhi returned to India after twenty-one years of staying in South Africa, he experimented with the method of Satyagraha in India and encouraged the poor communities and the oppressed people to struggle against discrimination in a peaceful and non-violent method.
