The second Round Table Conference occurred in 1931.
Gandhiji traveled to London in December 1931 to attend the summit, but the talks fell through, leaving him disappointed. When he returned to India, he learned that the government had started another series round of repression. Jawaharlal Nehru and Ghaffar Khan were both imprisoned, the Congress had been proclaimed illegal, and restrictions had been placed on gatherings, protests, and boycotts. Mahatma Gandhi, with great apprehension, reinstituted the Civil Disobedience Movement. The movement persisted for more than a year until losing momentum in 1934.
