Detailed Solution

The second stage is the pupa stage in a moth’s life cycle.
Silk is an animal fibre made by silkworms. A life cycle exists for silkmoths. Initially, the female silk moth lays 300–400 eggs. The larval stage begins when the eggs hatch and caterpillars or silkworms emerge. The silkworm then secretes tiny filaments that form a cocoon around its body. The second stage, known as the pupa, is then experienced by the silkworm inside the cocoon, and the adult stage is the last step.
