Detailed Solution

The Secret State Police was alternatively called Gestapo in Nazi Germany.
Once Hitler was declared the dictator of Germany through the Enabling Act of 1933, he acquired total control over the Germans. The state could now wield its power over the media, judiciary, army, and economy. The Nazis also wanted to monitor society, and for this, they established security services and special surveillance. In addition to the existing police officers in green uniforms and the Storm Troopers, they stationed the Gestapo or the Secret State Police, criminal police and the Security Service (SD), and the SS (the protection squads). The combination of these newly organised forces and extra-constitutional powers lent the Nazis its reputation as a dreaded criminal state. Police officers could rule without fear of punishment. They now had the power to attain people in Gestapo torture chambers, arrest them without legal procedures, or send them off to concentration camps.
